Parry-Romberg Syndrome with En Coup de Sabre
Parry-Romberg syndrome (PRS) is a relatively rare degenerative disorder that is poorly understood. PRS is characterized by slowly progressing atrophy affecting one side of the face, and is frequently associated with localized scleroderma, especially linear scleroderma, which is known as en coup de sabre. This is a report of the author's experiences with PRS accompanying en coup de sabre, and a ...
متن کاملParry Romberg syndrome: a close differential diagnosis of linear scleroderma en coup de sabre.
This 45 years old lady complained of asymmetry of her face since the age of 15 years. She also complained of decreased sweating on the left side and an intermittent left hemicranial headache. Examination revealed marked atrophy of the left side of the face involving the skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscles of the orbital, maxillary and mandibular regions. There was no induration or tightening ...

متن کاملParry-Romberg syndrome: findings in advanced magnetic resonance imaging sequences - case report*
Parry-Romberg syndrome is a rare disease characterized by progressive hemifacial atrophy associated with other systemic changes, including neurological symptoms. Currently, there are few studies exploring the utilization of advanced magnetic resonance sequences in the investigation of this disease. The authors report the case of a 45-year-old patient and describe the findings at structural magn...
متن کاملScleroderma en coup de sabre.
A case of scleroderma 'en coup de sabre' presenting with uveitis, predominantly posterior, and intractable grand mal seizures is described. The histopathology specimens and neuroradiology investigations reaffirm the clinical impression that inflammation is not solely confined to the skin in this form of linear scleroderma.
